On Sunday, we took a ride down the Thames River to Greenwich for a picnic. It was another beautiful day, and the Londoners were out in full force, filling up Greenwich Park and soaking up the sun.
We hiked up the steep slope to One Tree Hill (yes, like the TV show, but different). Packing food from M&S in Greenwich, we had a sit and took in the magnificent view of London.
After a long day out and about, we hit a neighborhood pub called The Angel for a pint. Great view of the river and Samuel Smith beers. The perfect topper to our outing.
Role reversal. One the way home, Tommy and Louis switch transportation - Tommy got the stroller ride, and Louis got the Ergo ride.
Back home, EZ plays with the boys. Louis was very generous in sharing his loot with Tommy.
While we missed Memorial Day in the States, that Monday was also a holiday in London. We checked out Covent Garden, went for a curry (a catch-all term for Indian food), then walked over to Buckingham Palace. Didn't see the Queen, but really had a great time walking around the city.
In front of a street performer putting on a show while riding a tall unicycle. London's Got Talent! You can seem him between our heads.

It was hot out in the open area outside Buckingham Palace, so we walked back through shady St. James's Park, then past Parliament, across Westminster Bridge as Big Ben was ringing, then along the south side of the Thames all the way home. It was a great walk with lots of sites along the way - the London Eye, the Jubilee footbridge, the Globe theatre, St. Paul's Cathedral across the river, the Tate Modern.
John and Louis tempted fate in this water display which would shoot up walls of water in square sections. Some were in it to get wet, some were in it to try to stay dry. Hours of entertainment for all.
Tommy eats dinner after we got back from our excursion. The beautiful garden in the backyard can be seen in this one.
To our dismay, after a week of bright sunny skies in London, we returned home to overcast skies and mist in DC. I guess we can't have everything...What an unforgettable trip for us and for Tommy. Can't wait to go back!
